The 1-2-5 Challenge!
Have you heard of the 1-2-5 Challenge? Believing that missions is important for the whole church, the 1-2-5 Challenge charges churches to be sure all age levels have the opportunity to learn about missions and develop a missional lifestyle!
1. Start one new missions education group in your church! Does your church have a missions organization for all age levels? Remember, missions is for all stages of our lives. It may look differently as we develop and grow, but it is for everyone.
2. Two new leaders! A new group need leaders! Leading can be intimidating, so it is often easier when the job is shared. Once you identify the need for a group, focus on two people who can share leadership of the group. They can divide responsibilities, or they can alternate leading the group!
3. Five new members! Who are you trying to reach with missions education? Work with the two new leaders to deliver personal invitations to those people. Just because you prepare does not mean people will come! Help parents understand what missions education means for their children in the discipleship process. Talk to adults about your desire to share the missions calling with them.
